Holker Hall, home of the Cavendish family, is one of the best-loved stately homes in Britain. With the new addition of a brand new top class brasserie, it’s now an even more attractive option for a classy day out!

When my friend Megan from Typical Type and I first visited the development back in February, the building was in the middle of being renovated. At the end of April we returned to do a styled wedding shoot, and couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw the completed project - it is so stunning!

Beautifully transformed by some of the best local craftsmen, The Ilex (Latin for the Holm Oak) is a calm, serene, stylish haven - crisp linens and chalky pink paints paired with with the finest slate and, of course, oak.

The food is equally as impressive, drawing it’s inspiration and ingredients from the very best the local area has to offer.
With the Hall becoming one of Cumbria’s newest wedding venues, the Ilex brasserie will be hosting wedding receptions soon, so if you’re looking for an amazing venue then swing by and check it out - and BOOK ME to take the photos because I love it there! ;)
